Best Of Festa da Defesa by Madame
The “Vinha da Defesa” party that was organised by Madame , took place on Thursday the 6th of May at Lisbon’s Transboavista gallery. The evening marked the first time London-based swing/hip hop crossover duo The Correspondents played in Portugal. Their explosive live act was a huge hit with party goers and DJ sets by Gala Drop and DJ Glue made sure the crowd was left wanting more. Check out the slideshow for photos of the event.

A festa da Defesa, organizada pela Madame, na galeria Transboavista na passada 5ªf dia 6 de Maio foi mais uma missão cumprida com sucesso. Estão aqui as fotografias para o provar! O live act explosivo dos The Correspondents não deixou ninguém indiferente e os DJ sets de Gala Drop e DJ Glue completaram a noite da melhor maneira.
The Correspondents pela primeira vez em Portugal
The 6th of May is the chosen date for one of the most exclusive parties of the Spring season. Herdade do Esporão is holding a highly exclusive bash at Lisbon’s Transboavista gallery to celebrate the launch of it’s new wine, “Vinha da Defesa”. The lineup will feature headliners The Correspondents, a London-based producer and DJ duo who will play in Portugal for the first time in their career and whose fusion of huge hip hop beats and swing, along with their pumping dance-floor filling live act is sure to hit a nerve with even the most world-weary party animal.
The Correspondents joined forces in 2007 and have shared the stage with such groundbreaking musicians as Florence & The Machine, Mika, Bat For Lashes, Basement Jaxx and many others. They have played at massive festivals such as Glastonbury, Bestival, Lovebox and the Big Chill as well as clubs such as Madame Jojo’s and the Notting Hill Arts Club.
Joining The Correspondents will be DJ Glue and Gala Drop who will DJ simultaneously in two different rooms, giving guests the chance to hear 3 different styles of music under the same roof on the same evening.
For anyone lucky enough to receive an invitation, this is one party you simply cannot afford to miss. The event will be organized by Madame.

Dia 6 de Maio é a data escolhida para uma das festas mais exclusivas desta Primavera. “Vinha da Defesa”, da Herdade do Esporão, é o mote para a festa que se vai realizar na galeria Transboavista em Lisboa e contará com a presença dos The Correspondents, uma dupla de DJs e produtores londrinos que apresentam pela primeira vez em Portugal a sua fusão de swing e batidas do Hip Hop do mais funky que há, com um live act que se destaca pela diversão, energia e interactividade com o público.
The Correspondents juntaram-se em 2007 e desde então já partilharam o palco com Florence & The Machine, Mika, Bat For Lashes, Basement Jaxx e muitos outros em locais tão diversos como os festivais Glastonbury, Bestival, Lovebox e the Big Chill e clubes como a Madame Jojo’s e o Notting Hill Arts Club. Para além da dupla importada directamente de terras de sua majestade, vai haver DJ sets de DJ Glue (dos Da Weasel) e Gala Drop a actuarem ao mesmo tempo em salas diferentes, o que significa que os convidados irão ouvir 3 estilos de música completamente diferentes no mesmo espaço.

Temos mais novidades sobre “O Baile” no The Loft em Lisboa, que acontece já este Sábado, dia 21.
Em primeiro lugar, temos uma nova contratação na equipa de artistas: Mary B – entre várias outras facetas é responsável pelo famoso programa “Dama e o Vagabundo” da Rádio Oxigénio e já consta no seu currículo ter actuado na primeira parte dos concertos de Nitin Sawhney e Thievery Corporation. Mary B vai tocar no andar de cima , fechando assim o grupo de artistas de luxo que compõem “O Baile”.
Para quem quer tentar a sorte, há passatempos em vários websites, que oferecem bilhetes para esta grande festa de Sábado, nomeadamente no Cotonete, Rua de Baixo, Festivais de Verão e no grupo de facebook da Defesa. Voltamos a reforçar que os bilhetes vão estar à venda apenas na porta no próprio dia, a partir das 22h. A entrada custa apenas 15€ com direito a 1 bebida. A Vinha da Defesa vai oferece um copo de vinho das 22h às 23h.

With only a few days to go until the first “O Baile” in Lisbon, we have some last minute info for you. First up Mary B, of Portugal’s Rádio Oxigénio, will be manning the decks on the second floor of The Loft, rounding out a truly awesome line up that includes Micachu & The Shapes, Jon Hopkins, Voltek, N>E>D, Quayola, Twofold, Heartbreakerz and Stereo Addiction. You can now enter various online competitions to win tickets to the bash, on the following websites Cotonete, Rua de Baixo, Festivais de Verão and on Defesa’s Facebook group. Tickets will be on sale at the door from 22:00 onwards and will be 15€ which gets you one free drink and entrance to venue. Vinha da Defesa will be serving a glass of wine to all guests between 22:00 and 23:00.

“O Baile” Update
Faltam apenas duas semanas para a estreia do “Baile”em terras lusas e, tal como prometido, temos mais informações a divulgar.
Em primeiro lugar, Tim Exile não vai poder estar presente . No seu lugar virá um dos pioneiros da electrónica alemã, Voltek em versão live act.
As portas abrem às 22 horas com o concerto de Micachu & the Shapes a começar às 22:30.
Vinha da Defesa será oferecido entre as 22:00 e as 23:00 aos presentes que poderão escolher entre tinto, branco ou rosé.
Relativamente a bilhetes, estarão à venda apenas na noite e à porta do The Loft (onde decorrerá a festa), a entrada serão 15€ com direito a uma bebida.
O tema do evento é “Outer Space” portanto é ter imaginação e vir vestidos para se divertirem!
There’s only two weeks to go until “O Baile” hits Lisbon and, as promised, we have some more information for you. First up, unfortunately Tim Exile will not be able to join us on the evening in question, so german electronica pioneer Voltek will be taking his place. The doors will open at 22:00, with Micachu & the Shapes hitting the stage at 22:30. A welcome drink will be served from 22-23, courtesy of Vinha da Defesa - guests will be given a choice between red, white and rosé wine. Tickets will be on sale on the evening at the door and will cost 15 euros which gives you access to the event and a complimentary drink. Finally the theme of the party will be “Outer Space” so come dressed accordingly. See you there!
