Aniversário da Madame e “O Baile”: 2 em 1
O projecto que funciona como plataforma artística de exposição e performance com as mais interessantes manifestações culturais da actualidade - nacionais e internacionais - está aí.
Micachu & The Shapes, Radioclit, Jon Hopkins, Luke Vibert, Nathan Fake, Matthew Hawtin, Octa Push, Tetine, Dj Ride, :papercutz, são alguns dos exemplos de artistas que já pisaram o palco d´O Baile, em edições europeias realizadas por territórios como Lisboa, Londres ou Novi Sad, Sérvia, sede do sempre popular Exit Festival.
Sexta-feira, dia 18 de Novembro 2011, haverá duas datas importantes a celebrar: o regresso da edição d´O Baile a Lisboa e o aniversário da Madame Management!
Para celebrar estas duas datas, junta-se 15 artistas num line-up eclético, personalizado e original protagonizado por uma série de estreantes no palco d´O Baile. Os artistas irão ocupar 4-salas-4 na Fábrica do Braço de Prata, local de culto sediado na fantástica zona oriental de Lisboa. Música, burlesco, techno, house, slows, funk e cinema serão as disciplinas em intervenção n’O Baile & Madame Bday Party, uma autêntica “ocupação” da Fábrica no Poço do Bispo, que em tempos fabricou armas mas que agora é “arsenal” de artes em Lisboa. Uma programação cultural que já fez com que o New York Times escrevesse: “Fábrica Braço de Prata’s transformation is emblematic of the city’s sudden cultural emergence”.
Na sala 4/4 vão estar os artistas da Madame em representação do melhor do house e techno português: Twofold, Stereo Addiction e Heartbreakerz, desta vez acompanhados por um convidado especial e estreia n´O Baile: SwitchSt(d)ance, o jovem Dj/produtor que actualmente usufrui de uma residência mensal na discoteca Lux, após ter ganho o concurso Via Heineken.
Numa outra sala da Fábrica, voltam os Flash Gordones, a tripla de Djs que com as suas “asas” tocam uma espécie de Folklore Progressivo de Marte, num set que pode ir do mais hypado dubstep aos hits de todos os tempos, com músicas e melodias que nos fazem chorar, incluíndo slows, pop, rock, tudo da mais alta qualidade. Na mesma sala estará Glue, doutorado em hip-hop português. Duas estreias absolutas num Baile que promete ser de grandes revelações.
Na sala ao lado, destaque para a primeira apresentação pública (e privada) de Coquette Burlette, uma festa kinky e burlesca composta pela performance hightease de Bastet Cabeleira (na foto) , ao som da DJ Miss K, com ilustração cinematográfica vintage de VJ Somsen. A missão de Coquette Burlette? Recuperar a alegria de outrora e convidar os portugueses a dançar a eternidade numa noite. Com a alegria libertina dos anos 20, a libertação social dos anos 50 e a liberdade sexual dos anos 70.
Por último, “O Baile” & Madame Bday Party destaca uma sala dedicada ao Cinema que inclui o lançamento em Portugal do polémico filme de intervenção “Just Do It” e ainda curtas dos visual artists: Konx-om-Pax Shorts, Semiconductor e DFuse.
A festa começa às 23h e, como em todos os Bailes, acabará quando nos arrastarem definitivamente do local. O preço dos bilhetes é de apenas 10€ e serão vendidos à porta do local do evento.
Madame Soirée no Aniversário do Miradouro
A Madame Soirée de dia 10 de Setembro tem um toque muito especial visto que integra o cartaz de cinco dias de festejo do 1º aniversário do Miradouro S. Pedro de Alcântara. A começar na quarta-feira dia 8 com a apresentação do “Drácula” de Bram Stoker nas Noites de Cinema do Miradouro e acabar no sábado dia 11 com DJ sets de D.I.E.M, Mr Mitsuhirato, Disco Volante e Storytellers nos dois quiosques do Miradouro, os cinco dias de festa cigana marcam em grande este aniversário. Na sexta-feira dia 10, a partir das 18:00 horas, é a vez de DJ Glue (membro dos Da Weasel) fazer tremer este recanto de Lisboa. É que o som de Glue faz mexer, mesmo os mais tímidos e com dores de pés. A técnica surpreendente do scratch promete uma edição inesquecível das Madame Soirées.
As Madame Soirées regressam ao Miradouro S. Pedro de Alcântara
After a month-long hiatus, the Madame Soirées are returning to Lisbon’s Miradouro S. Pedro de Alcântara. Between the months of April and July, the Soirées brought some of the most talented portuguese electronica artists to the Miradouro’s DJ booth, with performances from artists such as John-E & Gustavo, Twofold, Kaesar and Freshkitos. For the month of September, Madame has decided to broaden the musical spectrum on offer to showcase the hip-hop stylings of DJ Glue, the rock n’ rave of Bullycau, the hypnotic house of Zé Belo, and the eclectic yet fluid soundscapes of Justin Case. The soirées will hit the ground running, this upcoming friday the 3rd of September with a performance from Bullycau (pictured above), and up and coming DJ and producer from Lisbon who released his first record in June of this year, along with a remix of the track “Character Assassination” by Del Marquis (the Scissor Sisters‘ guitar player). Madame is in the process of rounding out the lineup for October, so stay tuned to the Madame Management website for more information.

Após uma paragem estratégica no mês de Agosto, as Madame Soirées estão de regresso ao Miradouro S. Pedro de Alcântara. Entre Abril e Julho, os finais de tarde mais agitados de Lisboa trouxeram à cabine do Miradouro alguns dos nomes mais interessantes da electronica nacional como John-E & Gustavo, Twofold, Kaesar, ou Freshkitos. Para o mês de Setembro, Madame decidiu alargar o estilo musical para dar a conhecer o hip-hop de DJ Glue, o rock n’ rave de Bullycau, o house hipnótico de Zé Belo, e o estilo incógnito de Justin Case. Arranca já esta sexta-feira, dia 3 de Setembro, a primeira edição desta grande reentrée com Bullycau (na foto), um jovém produtor e DJ de Lisboa que lançou o seu primeiro albúm de originais e Junho deste ano, juntamente com uma remistura do tema “Character Assassination” de Del Marquis (guitarrista dos Scissor Sisters). Lisbon Militia - Vhils After Show Party

On Thursday the 2nd of July, Madame will bring you yet another mind-blowing night of music. Lisbon Militia will be the after party celebrating the opening of the new exhibition by Portugal’s most unique, up and coming visual artist, Vhils.
Headlining the event will be Buraka Som Sistema’s very own DJ Riot, well known around the world for his intoxicating blend of booty shaking rhythms and powerful beats.
Joining DJ Riot will be DJ Ride, Portugal’s DMC champion, his unparalleled scratching skills have seen him play gigs all over europe and he has just released his first record on OPTIMUS DISCOS (which you can download for free here) to critical acclaim.
The evening will be rounded out by a set from DJ Glue, the man behind the turntables for Portugal’s biggest hip hop crew Da Weasel.
Lisbon Militia will take place on Thursday, the 2nd of July at Bar Rumba on Shaftesbury Avenue, from 21:30 onwards. This is one party you cannot afford to miss.

Scratching the Surface is the exhibition he is preparing to open Thursday 2nd July at Lazarides Gallery. The after show party will be a one evening event at Bar Rumba.
The event will combine the celebration of his new exhibition, his latest artwork, originals and prints and music. Vhils has invited RIOT (Faster Music/Buraka Som Sistema), Dj RIDE (4 times national champion at Turntablism/Scratch) and Dj GLUE (Da Weasel) who will be present to deliver the urban soundscape that gave rise to Vhil´s art.
