É verdade, a dupla comemora este ano, dez anos de carreira. É incrível olhar para trás e pensar em todas as vitórias e objectivos que estes dois rapazes de Lisboa conseguiram atingir ao longo do tempo. De ano para ano o seu perfil foi crescendo e quase toda a nova geração de DJ’s nacionais afirmam ter “crescido” em pistas comandadas pela dupla. De Tokyo a São Paulo, do fabric ao D’Edge, do Lux ao Gare, do Sudoeste ao Rock In Rio. Não houve quem resistisse às batidas fortíssimas e precisão técnica de John-E e Gustavo Rodrigues.
Esperamos (a Madame e os Stereo Addiction, de preferência, ainda juntos) estar aqui daqui a 10 anos a recordar estes momentos que partilhamos no video em baixo e outros que ainda queremos viver, ao vosso lado.

Roulet é a mais recente aposta da editora dos Buraka Som Sistema, Enchufada. Com apenas vinte anos, o rapaz já viu um dos seus temas incluídos numa compilação do fabric e editou o seu primeiro lançamento “Kitamanda“. Roulet prepara-se agora para brilhar nos pratos no dia 25, no Loft ao Lado de Nathan Fake, Matthew Hawtin, Stereo Addiction e Twofold. Até lá ficam a conhecer melhor um dos novos talentos mais interessantes do panorama português actual.
Qual o álbum da tua vida?
O álbum da minha vida é mesmo o “Sonhador Sonhador” do Tony Carreira…E porquê
perguntam vocês? Porque perseguiu-me toda a vida… Sempre que chegava a casa lá estava o
meu pai a ouvir Tony Carreira. E consequência disso, é que eu decorei a maior parte das letras
das musicas do cd …”Sonhador, sonhador, mais ou menos a sooonhaaaar”…
A música que te pode fazer levantar da cama às 7h a dançar?
A única música que me poderia levantar da cama para dançar é obviamente a “Maniac” do
Michael Sembello, para vos avivar a memória é a música do filme Flashdance, um dos
melhores filmes de dance até hoje. Isso sim, dava muita pica descomunal para dançar, seja a
que horas fossem…
A música que preferias que os teus amigos não soubessem que gostas?
Lá está, de tanto ouvir fiquei tipo com o gostinho…É claro que é a “Sonhador” do Tony
Carreira…E sei que se os meus amigos soubessem ficavam perplexos a olhar para mim,
e eu a cantar como se nada fosse…tipo mesmo à filme de comédia.
A banda que nunca viste em concerto e pagavas muito para ver?
Não é perseguição mas é obvio que diria o Tony Carreira… O homem consegue bater
recordes de público em concertos! O que é que se passa?! Deve haver marosca lá pós
concertos dele, ele deve andar a oferecer cenas ou não sei…Também quero!!!
Banda portuguesa favorita?
Desta vez não vou entrar em perseguição lol …A minha banda portuguesa favorita são mesmo
os Buraka Som Sistema. É aquela banda que explorou um tipo de som brutal, o kuduro, e fez
uma grande “salada” com a música electrónica. No fim dessa salada o resultado foi um estilo
de música brutal!!! Muitos chamam de Kuduro Progressivo, mas eu penso que seja uma cena à
maneira dos Buraka. O estilo havia de ser chamado Som do Sistema dos Buraka!
Musica portuguesa que fica para a história?
Sem dúvida que é “o corpo é que paga” de António Variações! Uma grande música e uma letra
brutal! Estou a pensar seriamente num futuro próximo fazer um remix da mesma. Mas isso são
sonhos, agora vou-me preparar para o que vem.
Que tipo de festa não existe em Portugal e deveria existir?
Não é por eu querer, mas com o movimento pimba que aí anda já deveriam ter feito um
festival só de música pimba…Mas haviam de fazer um festival só de música electrónica, que
durasse pelo menos uma semana…isso é q era!!! Música electrónica de todos os estilos,
com grandes djs a actuar…falta cá tipo pessoal do trance progressivo, nada de
psicadélico…Mas isso sei que será um pouco difícil cá por Portugal, mas vou ficar à espera.
Faltam 17 dias para “O Baile” em Lisboa
There are only two weeks to go until the latest edition of “O Baile” in Lisbon, and the evening is shaping up to be a massive success. With two international headliners, Nathan Fake and Matthew Hawtin, 3 portuguese projects joining them in the DJ booth - Stereo Addiction, Twofold and Roulet - and UK designer extraordinaire Jack Featherstone handling the visuals, Madame and Lumin are very excited and the 25th of September couldn’t get here fast enough.
Over the last few weeks, we here at Madame Management have been focussing on the headliners Nathan Fake and Matthew Hawtin, however one of the main ideas behind “O Baile” is to showcase the most exciting new portuguese talent. With that in mind, Madame and Lumin invited Roulet, the latest addition the Enchufada roster (Buraka Som Sistema’s record label) to show off his considerable skills behind the decks. Roulet is a young Lisbon-based DJ and producer who, at the tender age of 20, has already seen one of his tracks gain widespread exposure on a fabriclive compilation and whose first release “Kitamanda” has been worthy of a video, which you can watch here. Roulet is gearing up to blow us all away on September the 25th at Loft.

Com dois cabeças de cartaz internacionais, Nathan Fake e Matthew Hawtin, mais três projectos portugueses na cabine - Stereo Addiction, Twofold e Roulet - e o inglês Jack Featherstone a tratar dos visuais, Madame e Lumin estão muito entusiasmadas com a noite de 25 de Setembro, no Loft em Lisboa.

“O Baile” returns to London
Friday the 2nd of July marks the return of Madame & Lumin’s “O Baile” to London. The chosen venue is the Islington Metal Works, behind Angel tube station and the lineup features two projects who have already made waves in the UK. First up is Oporto’s :papercutz, whose sublime blend of acoustic instruments and electronica has seen them release their debut album on Montreal’s Apegenine Recordings, win an award at London’s prestigious People’s Music Awards, gain praise from BBC presenter Anne Nightingale and XFM’s Eddy Temple-Morris, and receive an invitation to play at the biggest alternative music festival in the United States - SXSW.
Next up is one of Portugal’s hottest dance music projects, Octa Push, whose unique sunshine infused dubstep has seen them go down a storm at such venues as the legendary fabric, festivals like Sonar and Glade, among many others, and has earned them the respect of luminaries such as Thom Yorke and Buraka Som Sistema. The unstoppable duo will once again grace “O Baile” with their highly eclectic and energetic live act.

Rui Da Silva Hits Fabric on New Year’s Day
Legendary portuguese producer, Rui Da Silva has been invited to join the lineup at a very special New Years Day edition of WetYourSelf at Fabric. On the 1st Of January, a truly mindblowing selection of DJs will be taking over rooms one and three of London’s most notorious nightclub. Rui Da Silva will be in the company of Stephan Bodzin, Marc Romboy, Martinez, and the WetYourSelf residents among others. Rui Da Silva & Craig Richards release “Be There” on Motivbank
Rui da Silva, one of house music’s most influential producers, has released a collaboration with none other than legendary Fabric resident Craig Richards. “Be There” was snapped up by Guido Schneider’s label Motivbank and is available only on vinyl. Micachu & The Shapes to play at Lisbon’s first “Baile”
On Saturday, the 21st of November, The Loft in Lisbon will host an event that has been all the rage in London. “O Baile“, a club night that was born from the imaginations of Mariana Duarte Silva and Joana Seguro, is a monthly showcase for Portugal’s cutting edge underground music. As the english capital is one of the most multicultural cities on the planet, the evenings’ concept evolved to include musicians from all over the world. ” O Baile” has had some of the freshest young talent in their DJ booth including Octapush (who were subsequently invited to play at Fabric and at the Glade Festival), Bart Cruz, Gustavo Rodrigues, Bailarico Sofisticado, Twofold, and Quayola, among others.In November, and coinciding with Madame’s birthday bash, “O Baile” will be heading over to Lisbon with a lineup that has to be seen to be believed. We joint forces with Berlin’s Little Big Agency to bring to London so of their most exciting up and coming artists. First up is Micachu & The Shapes an english band who have had the critics enraptured with their stunningly original pop cacophony - they have been credited with releasing the record of the year and being the future of Pop music. Next a young artist whose fans include the legendary Brian Eno, Herbie Hancock and Coldplay (whose latest record, “Viva La Vida”, he helped produce) - the young Jon Hopkins will be bringing his unique electronica stylings and awesome live act to Lisbon’s first “Baile”. Tim Exile, Warp Records latest goldenboy, will showcase his glitchy take on dance music in a live act that will surely add an excentric flavour to the proceedings.
AS if all this wasn’t enough, the night will be rounded off by DJ sets from renowned italian visual artist Quayola, and from Portugal’s hottest DJ duos - Stereo Addiction and Heartbreakerz who will be sharing the booth with Twofold, the latest signing to Madame Management’s roster. The site chosen to host this event, which promises to be the party of the year, is The Loft in Lisbon.

No Sábado dia 21 de Novembro Lisboa recebe, da capital inglesa, um evento que tem feito furor na noite londrina: “O Baile“, projecto que nasceu pela mão de Mariana Duarte Silva e Joana Seguro. As duas amigas tinham como ideia um showcase mensal para os novos talentos mais interessantes do underground português em Londres. Naturalmente, sendo Londres das cidades mais multiculturais do planeta, o conceito evoluiu para incluir também artistas internacionais. “O Baile” já teve como convidados um vasto leque de jovens talentos incluíndo Octa Push (que foram convidados, logo de seguida a actuar no Fabric e no Glade Festival), Bart Cruz, Gustavo Rodrigues, Bailarico Sofisticado, Twofold, Quayola, entre outros.
Em Novembro, e coincidindo com o aniversário da Madame, “O Baile” muda-se para terras lusas com um line up de luxo. Em primeiro lugar está Micachu & The Shapes, um conjunto inglês que tem feito as delícias da crítica nacional e internacional , o jornal “O Público” referiu-se a este projecto como sendo “autores de um dos discos do ano” e o “presente da pop”.
De seguida um artista que conta como fãs o lendário Brian Eno, Herbie Hancock e os Coldplay (a quem inclusivamente ajudou a produzir o seu último disco “Viva La Vida”) - o jovem Jon Hopkins vai trazer ao primeiro “Baile” lisboeta a sua fusão única de electrónica e texturas mais tradicionais em Live act.
Tim Exile é o novo coqueluche da notória Warp Records, as suas sonoridades ecléticas e fascinantes, também em Live Act, vão trazer um toque de excentricidade à noite.
Juntando-se a este cartaz extraordinário, “O Baile” ainda vai contar com DJ sets do visual artist italiano Quayola, e das duplas portuguesas do momento Stereo Addiction e Heartbreakerz que vão partilhar a cabine com Twofold, a cara do novo sangue electrónico em Portugal.
O local escolhido para este evento, que promete ser a festa do ano, é o The Loft em Lisboa.

Stereo Addiction hit Fabric this weekend!
Stereo Addiction have been invited to play at the world renowned London club Fabric for a very special edition of WetYourSelf. The superclub will host the official afterparty for the Get Loaded In The Park festival, which goes down on Sunday the 30th of August. As the festival wraps up, Fabric’s three rooms will host a huge range of international techno talent. The line-up includes Simian Mobile Disco with support from WetYourSelf residents Jacob Husley, Peter Pixzel and Cormac in Room 1, The Bloody Beetroots & Steve Aoki in Room 2 and Stereo Addiction headlining Room 3. The boys will play alongside Kanio, Betoko and John & On. If you are in London make sure not to miss this awesome event!
Stereo Addiction to hit Fabric in August!
Stereo Addiction were invited to play in August at London’s most notorious night spot, one of the most infamous clubs in the world – the legendary Fabric. The boys will be part of a very special line up organized by the UK’s most happening promoters, WetYourSelf. This is undoubtedly a sure-fire sign that Portugal’s grooviest DJ duo have truly arrived. Rui Da Silva and Stereo Addiction at The Egg
Hailed far and wide as one of London’s premier club nights, Always Fridays proudly brings you another fantastic night of music with yet another stunning lineup that has to be seen to be believed!
Friday, the 27th of February will be headlined by Italy’s The Bloody Beetroots, famous for their dancefloor smashing electro bangers, this eclectic duo need no introduction as they are already well known to London’s club savvy masses. Bringing up the rear are Kitsune Records’ golden boys du jour Punks Jump Up and Med Damon.
The 27th of February also marks the return of one of London’s hottest underground record labels to The Egg in King’s Cross - Kismet Records is the brainchild of Rui Da Silva, who, after the huge worldwide success of club super anthem “So Get Up” and solo smash hit “Touch Me”, decided to create a platform from which he could help launch the careers of a whole host of fresh new talent, handpicked by the man himself.
After releasing music by the likes of minimal techno masterminds Sleeper Thief and Matt Tolfrey, among many others, the label head turned his attention to young up and coming producers Stereo Addiction. This dynamic DJ duo is known far and wide for their explosive and unforgettable sets that once you step onto their dancefloor, you won’t want to leave until they do. Rui´s confidence in the talent of the young duo is such that he signed them up for three releases.
Joining Stereo Addiction at The Egg will be London-based Jacob Husley who has just launched Wet Yourself parties at Fabric.
Rounding out the the Kismet lineup , label boss Rui Da Silva will be manning the decks to bring us a taste of his unique stylings, making this a truly unmissable night for fans of quality dance music.
