Nova aquisição para “O Baile” Lisboa
“O Baile“, the series of events hosted by Madame and Lumin to promote the finest portuguese talent overseas, is finally returning to Lisbon on Saturday the 25th of September at Loft.
As promised, the headliner will be one of the world’s most respected and well known techno producers: Nathan Fake. Fake is known far and wide as one of the leading artists on James Holden’s Border Community record label, and the 25 year old is responsible for some of the biggest dancefloor destroyers of the past few years including “The Sky Was Pink“, “Outhouse” and “Dinamo“. His latest offering, titled “Hard Islands” is an EP influenced not only by the harder edged, more dancefloor friendly end of the spectrum of the Warp Records catalogue but also by the ethereal, poignant melodies of the underground indie rock scene. His stunning live act is a must see for any and all fans of earthshaking, yet thoughtful electronic music.
Joining Nathan Fake will be a second international headliner in the form of renowned visual artist Matthew Hawtin. A member of the Minus family, younger brother of Richie Hawtin and a formidable DJ in his own right, Matthew’s sets help bridge the gap between pounding beats and hypnotic melodies. His performance at the last “O Baile” in London was so astounding that Madame and Lumin couldn’t resist bringing him to Lisbon to perform before a portuguese crowd.
In addition to the two headliners there will be performances from “O Baile” residents Stereo Addiction, whose latest tracks - Shades of Light and Dee-troit - were released on Kasey Taylor’s eVapour8 Recordings and have already been making waves on dancefloors in Portugal and abroad, up and coming Lisbon-based techno maverick Twofold whose stunning DJ sets and lavish productions have made him a favourite of crowds who like their dance music to be engaging, melodic and energetic, and last minute addition - Roulet (pictured above). Roulet is a young producer and DJ who, at the tender age of 20, has already had one of his tracks released on Buraka Som Sistema’s compilation for London super-club fabric, and he is also the latest addition to Buraka’s Enchufada record label.
Madame and Lumin are treating the return of “O Baile” to Lisbon with all the pomp and circumstance an event of this magnitude deserves and so they decided to hand the visuals over to english super designer Jack Featherstone who has collaborated with a huge list of musicians, brands and clubs including Ministry of Sound, Border Community, Simian Mobile Disco, The Count and Sinden and many more. The D&AD award winning artist will be charged with making sure the party looks as awesome as it sounds with his psychadelic imagery.
On Saturday the 25th of September at Loft in Lisbon, the door is wide open to any and all who wish to take part in a truly mind blowing experience.

“O Baile“, o projecto reconhecido por promover e exportar além fronteiras o melhor do talento musical português, regressa a Lisboa, com toda a sua cor e agitação, no Sábado dia 25 de Setembro ao clube Loft.
E tal como já tinha sido anunciado, o cabeça de cartaz vai ser um dos nomes maiores do techno actual: Nathan Fake. Nathan, Dj e produtor de culto, é um dos artistas chave da editora Border Community, e o rapaz, de 25 anos, é responsável por alguns dos temas mais fascinantes dos últimos anos como “The Sky Was Pink“, “Outhouse” ou “Dinamo“. O seu último trabalho editado, “Hard Islands“, é um E.P influenciado tanto pela electronica altamente dancável e experimental da Warp Records como pelas melodias etéreas do indie rock underground. O seu live act arrebatador é imperdível para todo e qualquer adepto de música de pista.
Mas Madame e Lumin não dispensam a presença de um segundo cabeça de cartaz internacional, desta vez, aterrado de Berlin - Matthew Hawtin. Um artista visual , membro da família Minus (editora do seu irmão mais velho Richie Hawtin) e um DJ cujos sets procuram fazer a ponte entre as melodias hipnóticas e as batidas mais fortes. Hawtin já marcou presença no último “Baile” em Londres e a sua actuação foi tão forte que as organizadoras não resistiram em marcar uma actuação para o publico português, em Lisboa.
O talento português está nas mãos da dupla semi-residente do projecto, Stereo Addiction, cujos trabalhos recentes editados pela eVapour8 – “Shades of Light” e “Dee-Troit”- têm feito levantar os niveis de adrenalina nas pistas dentro e fora do país, Twofold, que sempre que se coloca numa cabine de Dj, faz maravilhas com o público à sua frente, num verdadeiro espectáculo de som, e ainda por uma aquisição de última hora - Roulet (na foto). Roulet é um jovem produtor e DJ que já viu uma das suas faixas editadas na compilação que os Buraka Som Sistema fizeram para o fabric de Londres, e que é a mais recente aposto da editora Enchufada.
E porque “O Baile” não se faz apenas com musica , mas é também palco de várias outras manifestações culturais que surpreendam e façam pensar, as organizadoras decidiram entregar a parte visual deste próximo evento, a Jack Featherstone, um artista inglês que já trabalhou com nomes como Simian Mobile Disco, The Count & Sinden a editora Border Community, ou Ministry of Sound, e já ganhou um D&AD.
Jack vai estar encarregue de criar um ambiente único com as suas imagens psicadélicas.

Stereo Addiction lançam Shades of Light na Evapour8
Stereo Addiction released their latest offering - Shades of Light - on the 10th of August through Kasey Taylor’s eVapour8 Recordings. The title track, which has already been immortalized in a video you can watch here, is a dancefloor destroyer that bridges the gap between the sofistication of techno and the funky grooves of tech house.
